Gerardus van der Leeuw is the study association of the Faculty of religion, culture and society of the University of Groningen. It was founded in 2003 and is named after the first theologian to introduce religious studies to our university, and twenty boards later we are still going strong! We love our faculty community and want to make our students feel happy and at home by organizing events like our yearly Christmas play, borrels, parties, study sessions, pub lectures, and workshops for students and staff.
In this academic year, 2022/2023, the university is finally completely open again and luckily covid seems to be past tense. As a board, we’re super excited to bring back the real-life student experience to faculty. With all the possibilities in one hand and a drink in the other, we will organize loads of fun activities to (re)connect with fellow lions! We are going to pick up from where we left off, but make it even more fun! (imagine a magical sparkly sound)
Gerardus sends weekly newsletters to all faculty students to keep everyone up to date about news items and upcoming events. Keep an eye out for that! And if you have any questions or ideas, or if you want to be added to the newsletter, please email us at gerardusvanderleeuw@gmail.com.
Lots of love,
The Gerardus board 2022/2023: Ruth, Lauree, Rosa, Dineke and Joëlle
